Khao Sok, Thailand

Pictures from Khao Sok National Park. The lake pictured is an extensive man-made reservoir, built in the 1960's to provide hydroelectric power to surrounding villages (and, reportedly, to help root out rebel militants hiding out in the dense jungle). Lush, dense jungle lines the lakeshore, and is surrounded in all directions by spectacular karst formations.
