Mandalay, Myanmar

Pictures from Mandalay, home to the last Burmese king before being deposed by the British. In the central city lies portions of a reconstructed imperial palace (the original was destroyed in World War II during fighting between the Allies and Japanese). Overlooking the city is Mandalay Hill, from which one can enjoy sweeping views of the Irrawaddy River valley.
